Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Dr. Kodela Shiva Prasada Rao has conducted an all party meeting at Hyderabad today. Interestingly, the main opposition party YSR Congress party doesn’t raised any objection to Speaker Kodela’s proposal for conducting winter Assembly sessions at Thullur in a temporary building to be constructed soon.
Speaker proposes to construct temporary buildings for Assembly and Legislative Council at Thullur after the foundation stone laying ceremony is performed for AP capital city Amaravati on October 22 and both building are expected to be completed within 40 days as pre-fabricated structures will be used for it. Ruling and opposition parties both unanimously approved his proposal. Winter sessions of the Assembly will be held for five days starting from December 15th.
Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad, Legislative Council Chairman Chakrapani and Ummareddy Venkateswarulu from YSR Congress party attended this meeting chaired by Speaker Kodela Shiva Prasada Rao.
However, no one who participated in this meeting gave any explanation for why the statement government wants to construct temporary building for Assembly and Council when they are existing in Hyderabad or there are many alternatives like Nagarjuna University near Guntur, Andhra University or Geetam University at Visakhapatnam.
