At least 4 senior Congress leaders may quit their ministerial posts shortly in a major reshuffle at the Center. The ministers - Gulam Nabi Azad, Jairam Ramesh, Vyalar Ravi and Salman Khursheed -- informed Sonia Gandhi about their wish to to give up their ministerial portfolios to strengthen the organisation in view of the party's poor results during the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
However, the party high command hasn't taken any decision so far. Jairam Ramesh had earlier quit as minister in 2008 before Lok Sabha elections. He has handled the Congress election manifesto and could be a very important person when next Lok Sabha election takes place in 2014.
