Poll sops for women by TDP

The TDPs Mahila Garjana held in Vijayawada yesterday saw the Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu announcing his promises to the women of Andhra Pradesh if voted to power.

As per his party manifesto he spoke of implementing new schemes for women's welfare and empowerment. Taking the party founder Late NT Rama Rao’s name as the true leader who had conceptualized reforms for woman during his regime announced this year as 'Women's Year' and many schemes would be implemented for the welfare, health employability and security of women .


A healthcare scheme for mother and child called 'Pandanti Bidda' (a healthy baby) under which the government would pay Rs 10,000 to a mother for a period of six months after the delivery for her nutrition and well being.



Speaking against the Congress whom he said had totally failed to protect women despite the Nirbhaya Act being implemented the instances of rape continues till date. He promised a toll free number where they could call in case of emergency and local Police officers would come to help them and he would personally monitor those numbers.



He said the Women's Reservation Bill had not been passed due to various political reasons and that his party would fight for passage of the bill in parliament. He promised to waive the loans of the Self Help Groups and said that the Congress had failed to address the issues of the SHGS who fell into the death trap.
