‘It is not possible to shift all the files’

HYDERABAD: Government of Telanaga recently announced that it is going to increase the number of districts in the state to 27 from 10. The Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandra Shekar Rao following the proposed plan ordered that the police department and the revenue department offices should commence their operations on the first day of the formation of the new districts.
The police and the revenue department official with regard to the commencement of the departments’ operations said that, it was not possible to shift all the files to the new districts, revenue divisions and mandal offices within a short period of time. A joint collector, who is also involved in the process, said that, each district had about five to ten lakh revenue records and it would take three to four months to segregate, to provide index numbers and to transport the files that belong to the newly proposed districts.
