AP Government challenge High Court order which set aside the compensation paid to Muslim youth wrongly arrested in 2007 Mecca Masjid bomb blasts.
The AP high court on Monday has set aside an order of the state government to pay compensation to those who were arrested in may 2007 and were later acquitted. A division bench comprising chief justice kalyan jyoti sengupta and justice k c bhanu was dealing with a PIL filed by S Venkatesh goud challenging the compensation paid to 70 muslim youth for wrongful confinement. The bench had ruled on Monday that the government has no authority or jurisdiction to pay compensation.
