G Aruna Kumari and son for TDP on March 8th
Updated : Mar 7, 2014
With the ongoing saga of politicians jumping parties post the bifurcation and release of the poll schedule, it is confirmed that we now have former Congress minister Galla Aruna Kumari and her Industrialist son Galla Jayadev joining the Telugu Desam (TDP) on March 8. Though there was some dilly dallying by Mr Jayadev about his political leanings which took almost a month for him to finalize, both of them have jumped into the TDP bandwagon . It is reported that he would be contesting as the TDP candidate from the Guntur Lok Sabha seat while his mother Mrs Aruna Kumari is yet to decide from where she would contest from.
It may be recollected that she had already shown her TDP leanings when as a Minister, she had even shared a joint platform with the TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu at Bangarupalem in the district recently. It was also seen that her supporters had erected publicity posters with images of Mr. Naidu and herself at Chandragiri and Puthalapattu constituencies. It is well known fact that her father Paturi Rajagopal who was a former Congress MP from Chittoor and she herself being a minister in both the YSR and Kiran Kumar Reddy’s regime and this decision to move will see the prospects of Congress party diminishing in Chittor politics.
