Will the President’s rule be imposed in Karnataka ? The answer for the same is appearing as ‘yes’ considering the number of MLAs supporting Jagadish Shettar led state government is less than that of required. With the Yeddyurappa camp has taken away some MLAs from the chief minister’s camp, the state government has fallen in clear minority.

It may be recalled that about 14 MLAs and 6 MLCs had attended the recent meeting of Yeddyurappa in Bangalore. It means the government is short of required figures. Congress party has on today appealed to the state Governor H.R.Bhardwaj to dismiss the BJP government in the state.

A delegation of the state Congress, led by Parameshwara, and the opposition leader in the assembly Siddaramaiah have requested the governor to recommend the dismissal of the Shettar government under Article 356 of the Constitution of India. Parameshwara said that there is a constitutional crisis in the state after some ruling party MLAs supporting BSR Congress of Sreeramulu and some more supporting KJP of Yeddyurappa.

The leaders are saying that 14 MLAs are supporting Yeddyurappa and six MLAs are supporting Sriramulu. Siddaramaiah said that the present government has no moral government to continue in the office as it had lost majority.

‘The governor told us that he had to look at the legal aspects in the matter’, said a member in the delegation.
