Development proposals approved by state cabinet

 

After a long interval of 3 months, the state cabinet meets today at Secretariat presided by Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. Except, six Seemandhra and two Telangana ministers rest of the ministers have attended this meeting.

 

Minister for Panchayati Raj criticized CM Kiran Kumar Reddy for letting the AP NGOs continue their strike and asked for his explanation about the steps taken by the government to stop the strike. Kiran Kumar Reddy, in his as usual cool manner replied that the same actions have been taken by the government that it has taken while dealing with T-NGOs month long Sakala Janula Samme. Kiran Kumar Reddy said the government did not show lenience with AP NGOs.

 

Then the cabinet has approved the proposal for up-grading Gannavaram airport with an estimated cost of Rs.280 crores, out of which Rs. 110 crores will be spared for land procurement and rest for developing the infrastructure. The cabinet also granted 7 new polytechnic colleges to the state. The meeting concludes around 12.45 pm.
