APFDC to demerg soon

Exercise begins for demerger of Andhra Pradesh Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation (FDC), said its managing director BP Acharya. He said both governments agreed for demerger of the FDC that comes under Schedule 10, following recommendations of the Sheila Bhide panel.

However, Minister for cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the existing mode of operating of Telugu Film Industry will not be disturbed though it is dominated by people from Andhra Pradesh. The process of demerger will begins once the Telangana Film Development Corporation emerges with its own entity.

Producer and director Sayed Rafi pulls out a wish-list for Telangana film Industry. He said the statement government should give subsidy up to Rs. 20 lakhs for the films made in Urdu and Telangana Telugu languages. Films those employees’ 70-80 per cent local technicians and actors should be treated as local films. Government should make it mandatory for theatres to allot matinee shows for local films. Then only the local businessmen and others will show interest to enter into film business.

It takes decades for Telugu Film Industry to reach its present position. So, Telangana Film Industry also may take a couple of decades to compete with Tollywood as it has to begin from scratch again. However, there is enough talent in Telangana state. All they have to do is put sufficient efforts and need some support from Telangana statement government.
