If reports are to be believed, Telangana government issued a GO to amend the law that enables the government for demolition of heritage buildings in Hyderabad twin cities. This will enable the state government to demolish heritage buildings like Osmania Hospital, Erragadda Chest Hospital and many buildings that comes in the route of Hyderabad Metro rail Project.

According to statistics there are around 160 heritage buildings in Hyderabad twin cities and majority of them belongs to private persons. Opposition parties and Telangana JAC Chairman Professor Kodandaram also strongly opposed Telangana government plans for demolition of Osmania Hospital. Hence, they may oppose any such move.
