Dalmakhani

 

 

 

 Ingredients

whole  urad  (Minumulu/ Black Lentil) 1cup

 Rajma (Kidney Beans) 2 Table spoons

 Finely chopped onions 1⁄2 cup

 Green chillies 2

 Tomato pure 1cup

 Ginger garlic Paste 1teaspoon

 Cuminseeda(jeera) 1teaspoon

 Chilli powder 1⁄2 teaspoon

 Turmeric powder 1⁄4 teaspoon

 Butter 3Table spoon

 Fresh cream  3 table spoon

 Salt to taste 

 Cloves 2

 Cardmoms 2

 Cinnamon small sticks 2

 Chopped Coriander  2table spoons

 

Method

1. Clean, wash and soak the whole urad and rajma overnight.

2.  Add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for the dals are overcooked.

 

3. Whisk till the dal is almost mashed. Keep aside.

4. Take a Sause-Pan  heat the butter and add the cumin seeds.

5. When the cumin seeds crackle, add the green chillies, cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms, and onions and sauté till the onions turn golden brown in colour.

6. Add the ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder and tomato puree and cook till the mixture leaves oil.

7. Add the dal, salt and 1cup of water if required and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.

8. Add the cream and mix well. Simmer for 2 to 3 more minutes.

9. Serve hot garnished with coriander  and fresh cream.
