Although, Congress party in Andhra Pradesh is currently seems to be in sleep mode, the main opposition party YSR Congress party is practicing all the conventional ideas to attract people and media attention.

Its’ leaders Ambati Rambabu, Jupudi Prabhakar rao and Vasireddy Padma have lodged a complaint with State Election Commissioner against former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy yesterday. They complain that Somireddy is encouraging YCP elected representatives for cross voting by violating party whip. They argue it is violating the provisions of the Panchayat Raj Act and also the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has stated that the whip issued by a political party prior to recognition by EC is not binding on any members of the party and so they are free to elect their choice of leaders for MPP and ZPP Posts from other parties. Therefore, YCP leaders have urged the EC to take criminal action against Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy for violating the provisions of Panchayat raj Act and for encouraging other parties’ members for cross voting.
