Why Pak provokes India?

Pakistan governments make it a standard practice to escalate tensions between two countries, whenever some major troubles erupt in the country. Although, everyone expects Narendra Modi may act tough with Pakistan, he surprised everybody by inviting its Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to his swearing-in-ceremony, extending friendship hand to Pakistan. However, as the situation in Pakistan is worsening very rapidly, Pakistan government adopts the same practice of provoking tensions between two countries in a last bid to divert its peoples’ attention from the crisis situation.

Though it is not clear who controls whom in Pakistan government and Pakistan army, its high commissioner to India Abdul Basit has convened a meeting with Kashmir separatist group Hurriyat leaders at New Delhi, simply ignoring the strong objections by Indian government. This lead to calling off the talks between India and Pakistan foreign secretaries slated for 25th August.

However, Pakistan seems not satisfied with the strong reactions from India stated that talking to Kashmiri leaders is not interfering in India’s internal affairs because, Kashmir is not integral part of India, but it is a disputed piece of land. Hence, it takes the representatives of the Kashmiri groups into confidence before sitting for talks with India over bilateral relations.

Pakistan said that consulting Kashmiri representatives before sitting for talks with India is not any new practice. So, this time also it invited the Hurriyat leaders for consultations, but unfortunately the new government reacts negatively. Pakistan said it is quite unfortunate that Indian government stepping back on the scheduled meeting between foreign secretaries of two countries. However, all this drama being played by Pakistani government couldn’t stop its opposition parties demand Nawaz Sharif to step down from his Prime Minister Post.
