Shocking: Uttarakhand, Goa CMs Lose Seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday took winning lead over the ruling Congress in Uttarakhand, as per trends. The saffron party is leading in 51 seats in the 70-member house. Biggest shocking thing for Congress is Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat loses from Kichha seat. The incumbent CM loses from Haridwar rural seat too.

Curiously, BJP is facing competition from Congress in Goa. While Congress maintains the lead with 12 seats, BJP won 8 seats and others have won 4 seats. Astonishingly, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar lost the Mandrem assembly seat by a margin of nearly 7000 votes to Congress rival Dayanand Sopte.

It is evident that the people of Goa were unhappy with the CM who was Minister of Health before who succeeding Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Moreover Parrikar was the star campaigner for the assembly elections even though Parsekar was the chief minister, Parsekar won thrice from his constituency of Mandrem in north Goa in the past.
