US makes India pay for removing traffic barricades

Indian government in a reciprocity action to its diplomat Devayani Kobragade’s humiliation by New York state police has removed the traffic barricades placed in front of US embassy in New Delhi two weeks ago. Besides, it also takes several strict measures to convey its anguish to US government.

However, US is not ready to succumb to Indian government pressure tactics. It bluntly said that it will not apologize for the incident and also will not drop charges against the India diplomat, although she is elevated to higher position that provides full diplomatic immunity. But, US government could convince the Indian government to provide additional security at its Embassy, School and at American Center in New Delhi.

Indian government has deployed 30 security personal in addition to present 130 deployed at US Embassy. These 150 security personal will provide 24x7 hours security in three shifts to the US Embassy. Indian Government also allots two vehicles for petrolling duty of US Embassy on permanent basis.

These additional security arrangements have become necessary as US government has expressed concerns over the security of its employees and offices as traffic barricades were removed. It appears US Government has made Indian Government pay dearly for removing traffic barricades.
