Tollywood Blackout in Support of Telangana

With the agitation for separate statehood gaining momentum, the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce has resolved to join the agitation by shutting down work for 48 hours on August 17 and 18.
The chamber will be dashing off letters to the Telugu Film Producers' Council and the AP Film Chamber of Commerce, urging them to shut down shootings, studios, dubbing and other film-related activities in support of the stir spearheaded by TJAC.
More than 450-odd theatres, including multiplexes in the region, will down their shutters, to show their solidarity for the ongoing agitation. Even though Tactivists demanded a 5 to 7 day bandh, it was scaled down to 48 hours.
