The way Telangana government is gearing for a confrontation with Centre, the MSOs in Telangana also throwing challenge to Centre. Responding to I & B minister Prakash Jawadekar’s stern warning to Telangana MSOs over stopping TV9 and ABN News Channels, Kuldeep Sahani, the honorary president of Telangana MSOs Associations states “We can’t blindly follow the orders for the Centre to lift the ban on those two news channels. We can’t air the channels that are not wanted by the people. Moreover both those news channels are neither paying any carriage fees to us nor have any agreement with us. Hence, there is no binding on us for telecasting those two news channels. If Centre telecast its choice of channels, we can’t follow its orders. We will show only those channels wanted by the people. If, government takes any action against us, we are ready for a legal fight with it.”

Union Minister Prakash Jawadekar warned Telangana MSOs that if they fail to revive both the news channels by Monday, their licenses will be cancelled. But, the MSOs throw the ball back into his court.
