Ailing Sushma is helping public from hospital

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj may have been ill and seeking treatment at AIIMS, Delhi, but that certainly has not stopped her from rendering services or helping citizens in distress. From her bed at AIIMS, the tech-savvy minister has been responding to crises tweeted at her by people, even as she awaits a kidney transplant. A PhD student identified as Geeta Singh, tweeted out to the minister after her visa for Australia was not granted on time. The female scholar from AIIMS wrote that she had applied for the visa on November 14 and still has not got it. She also mentioned that she needed it “urgently” in view of presenting research paper in Australia on December 7. The minister quickly responded from the hospital that she could help her and asked her to visit at AIIMS for further assistance. Several people on Twitter criticized Geeta Singh for asking an an ailing minister for help with an Australian visa. Still, Swaraj appeared to take no offence. Swaraj is extremely popular and known to be accessible on the social media platform.
