15-20% Pay hike for Govt employees soon

There is some great news coming the way of Government employees soon. The Finance Ministry was directed by the Prime Minister to place the recommendations of the Cabinet Secretary's report on the seventh Pay Commission in the next Cabinet meeting on June 29, which is sure to bring a lot of cheer among the employees. The employees are likely to get a hike of 15-20 per cent. This will lead to an increased burden on the exchequer by almost Rs 1.02 lakh crore in 2016-17. A total of 98 lakh employees out of which 47 lakh central government employees and 52 lakh pensioners will benefit from the hike.
