He said the strike would be intensified further if the Centre failed to come out with an immediate announcement on the formation of a separate Telangana state.

Telangana JAC chairman M Kodandaram told reporters on Tuesday after his return from New Delhi that there was no alternative to the people’s strike for achieving the goal of a separate state. “We have a plan of action in place for the entire month of October. If the Centre does not respond, we will intensify the agitation," he said. Delhi was aware of the ground reality in the region and though Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had himself acknowledged that the entire region was observing a strike in support of the demand, he ruled out any further consultations on the subject, Kodandaram said. He clarified that their struggle was against the Centre and not against people from Andhra and Rayalaseema. He dismissed the attacks on private buses as 'not deliberate'.
