Mrs Doubtfire, Robin Williams no more

 

Comedian and actor Robin Williams (63) died in his residence in an apparent suicide. Known for his comedy roles in Mrs Doubtfire (which was remade in Tamil as Avai Shanmugi with Kamal Haasan reprising the same role and also remade in Hindi as Chachi 420 ), Jumanji,  Night at the Museum,  Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society and had also won an Oscar for his role in Good Will Hunting.
His publicist said he had been "battling severe depression” as he was struggling with alcohol and drug abuse and apparently died due to asphyxiation. In the past he had talked about his struggle with alcohol and drug abuse.Tributes have been pouring in from his fans in  the Twitter who are deeply shocked by his death. President Barack Obama offered his   condolences to his family and said that “Williams arrived in our lives as an alien - but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit
