Lawyers Mistake Bring Troubles To Leander Ex

Indian ace Tennis Player Leander Paes appeared at the Bandra Magistrate Court in Mumbai couple of days ago over the hearing of a domestic violence case slapped on him in 2014 by his former girlfriend and live-in partner Rhea Pillai who demands Rs 1 crore in compensation from him.

Pillai claimed that Leander Paes had no interest in taking care of their daughter Aiyana. Rhea has said in her petition: "Paes has always given priority to his own life and neglected the child and her feelings. He has been an absentee father. Besides being out of country for nearly 10 months of the year, he is also not reachable for days at length."

Interim, Rhea Pillai's lawyers made a gaffe by mentioning the compensation amount demanded by her in the domestic violence case as Rs 10 lakh and not Rs 1 crore. The lawyers later told Magistrate that the correct amount Rhea had demanded was Rs 1 crore. The missing zero here made all the difference.

Rhea Pillai demands one time settlement of Rs 1.43 Cr from Leander Paes. She also demands monthly-maintenance of Rs. 2.6 lakh. Her list of demands includes monetary assistance for buying a mid-budget car in the range of Rs 15-20 lakh. The cars given as examples are Toyota Innova, Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda City.

Actual compensation demanded by Rhea was Rs 1 Cr, but the lawyers mistakenly wrote Rs 10 lakhs in the petition.
