One alone can’t change the country: Rahul Gandhi

The ongoing discussions in Congress party over who will become PM after 2014 irritate Rahul Gandhi very much. During his address at Confederation of Indian Industry, (CII) on Thursday it clearly reflected in his speech. He said that all the news and discussions about occupying the PM chair is completely irrelevant and ‘all smoke’.

He said “I am fed-up to hear this concentrated discussion in media around me. The media has always only two questions for me. One is about my marriage and the other is occupying the PM chair. There is nothing interest them than these two things. Their reporting and debate on these two issues are irrelevant. They never discuss the issues of the people. The news is always about one person and not about the voice of the billions of people in the country. I get frustrated to go through it. Even people also prefer to talk about individuals and not about the issues related to the system.

He said “My entry into politics is an accidental fate and due to my DNA linkage with particular family. I am not a hard nose politician and I don’t want to become one.”

Speaking further “We have got to come out of this old idea of one man coming on a horse fixes everything with his charging. Even Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh alone can’t do this and if any one expects him to do so they will be day dreaming. I am also one among billions of the Indians. Unless the power is decentralized one can’t fix all the problems of this country,” said Rahul Gandhi.

He said “I have observed a lot of dis-functioning in our system. The system which we built doesn’t allow the billions of people of the country to interfere in its process. The political and government systems are completely closed systems. They are of no use to us. It is time for us completely revamp our system and make it work for all of us and the country.”
