Remembering Rabindranath Tagore

Amidst the  polling fever that has caught the Indian Nation today , May 7th ( 1861) also happens to be Rabindranath Tagore or Gurudev as he was  popularly known as, 154th Birth anniversary. He became the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his literary work titled Gitanjali  and with this he  introduced new prose and verse forms into Bengali literature.  Tagore was a prolific composer too with 2,230 songs to his credit his  songs which are popularly sung under the genre of  Rabindra Sangeeth , which merges fluidly into his literature, most of which—poems or parts of novels, stories, or plays alike were lyricised.
