NIT likely to come-up near Tadepalligudem?

 

A central team accompanied by state ministers and some officials have toured in West Godavari district today in search of suitable place for setting-up National Institute of Technology (NIT). They have visited some private and government engineering colleges in the district. Minister Ganta Srinivasa rao, who is also in this team said that state government is keen to start classes from next academic year somewhere in the private or government engineering colleges till permanent structures are ready.

 

Endowments Minister P Manikayala Rao, who is in this team said the institute needs at least around 300 acres of land. He said they have identified government lands near Ramasingavaram and Tadepalligudem in the district suitable for constructing permanent structures for the institute.Praveen Prakash-Joint secretary for Union HRD ministry,  Neelam Sahani-Higher Education principal secretary, district collector Katamaneni Bhaskar, Sailendra Kumar-Public Works department chief engineer  and few others accompanied the central team.
