USA spied on BJP in 2010

According whistleblower and former US NSA contractor Edward Snowden who has revealed that a US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance  court allowed  America’s top intelligence  agency NSA to snoop on six non-US political parties, including BJP in the year 2010.People’s Party of Pakistan also featured in this list.

The American government was quick to react saying that for the purpose of gathering Foreign Intelligence, these kind of surveillances were conducted and it was just a routine check. Except for Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand the NSA is authorized to intercept information on other countries for the President and other Intelligence departments in the US of A.
