Former BCCI Chief Srinivasan gets clean chit

Justice Mudgal Committee constituted to probe the match fixing in the IPL-2013 series has issued a clean certificate to former BCCI President N Srinivasan. According to the committee report submitted to Supreme Court, he has no role in the match fixing and not interrupted in the probe. However, he and some others in the board are aware about the violations of code of conduct taking place in the series, but didn’t take any action to stop the illegal practices, says Justice Duggal Committee report.
The report names Raj Kundra the co-owner of Rajasthan Royals team was in touch with the bookies. It reveals that Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of N. Srinivasan was involved in betting. IPL CEO Sundar Raman was also aware of betting, but he preferred to remain silent, mentioned in the report. The Committee also observed that Rajasthan Police abruptly and without any specific reasons stopped investigation against Raj Kundra.
