Veteran Bollywood actor and ruling Trinamool Congress MP Mithun Chakravarthy is fondly called as dada in film industry and by Bengalis as well, because of his great contribution to the Hindi film industry. However, he lands in troubles for participating in a leading Bengali TV ‘Channel-10’ program as honorary guest for which he used to receive Rs.52 lakh per month as remuneration. The TV channel is owned by Sharada Group which is also into chit fund business in the state. It is alleged to have duped the people of the state to an amount of Rs.2500 crores.
Mithun Chakravarthy has also come under ED scanner for taking Rs.52 lakh remuneration from this scam-hit group of companies. The ED has served notice to him asking to appear before them at its Delhi office within 15 days days for questioning about his remuneration, source, bank accounts and other transactions with the Sharada Group of companies. Dada is quite upset to be summoned by ED . however, he has sought time to consult his lawyers before attending the questioning.
