Magnitude of 5.3 Earthquake hits Johannesburg

Just two days after the massive earthquake in China which has left more than 400 people dead , an earthquake measuring 5.3  on the Richter scale  has shaken buildings in Johannesburg and surrounding areas in South Africa.
There are no immediate reports of casualties following the earthquake today, wherein the tremors were also felt in the regions of Pretoria and Hartbeespoort, a nearby resort town. The USGS said the quake was centered in Orkney, 105 miles southwest of Johannesburg.Quakes are a concern to the ecologists as  there are mining companies that operate around Johannesburg area.
