Indian Badminton-pair Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa get chance to play in the ongoing London Olympics again. Both of them have been reinstated after the match-fixing row.
It is already reported that eight players involved in a match-fixing scandal at the Olympic badminton tournament have been disqualified from the Games. With this, Jwala and Ashwini, who were virtually out of the games for failing to notch a single win, got lucky to be allowed to participate further in the games. According to sources, the eight players - four from South Korea, two from Indonesia and two from China - were disqualified following a disciplinary hearing of the Badminton World Federation. They were found to be trying to lose the match in order to get a better placement in the next outing.
