Prof. Kodandaram caught between OU Students and Government

An unexpected trouble brews up over Telangana government’s decision to regularize the contract employees working in several government departments. Osmania University students demand the government to revoke its decision that is betraying their job opportunities. They staged dharna in front of T-JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram’s house demanding him to fight on their behalf with the government. However, they returned after he assured them that he will discuss the issue in the T-JAC meeting and take a decision.

OU Students may believe that T-Government may not say ‘No’ to Prof. Kodandaram if he insists to revoke its decision, but it is not that easy as it appears. T-Government may not afford to oblige his appeal, because it is implementing its promises made to contract employees during elections campaigning. So, T-JAC has to align with government rather than students, otherwise it will develop fissures in their relations. If, T-JAC denies fighting for students cause, obviously they will fume on it. So, it can’t let down the students. Either way, T-JAC seems to be in fix with this unexpected problem. Let us see how Prof. Kodandaram will deal this sensitive issue.
