Highest voting in Karnataka in 60 years

Karnataka has recorded a 72.13% turn out of voters in the present assembly polls. This is said to be a record turnout since 1957 assembly elections. As many as 24 of the 30 districts in the state recorded more than 70% polling. The heavy campaign by top BJP and congress leaders seem to be a major cause for the turnout. However some fear that the increased distribution of money among voters could be another reason for the high percentile of voting.
