UPA responds positively to Jaya’s letter

Tamilnadu CM Kum.Jayalalitha’s letter to Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh asking to prohibit Sri Lanka cricketers joining IPL match at Chennai had a spontaneous response. BCCI Chairman Rajeev Shukla has assured her that Sri Lankan players will not be playing in Chennai match.

Although, a big debate is taking place on media whether the sports can be put at stake for politics or not, the prompt response to Jayalalitha’s letter is considered to be a feeler to gain her party support to UPA government, which is now facing a fresh threat from Samajwadi party Chief Mulayam Singh. Since DMK has left the UPA and Samajwadi is ready to follow the path, UPA is deliberately looking for support to keep afloat.

However, UPA did not sit cool waiting for her acknowledgment to its feelers. It puts its local managers into action to get her acknowledgement at the earliest. At the same time, it approached Didi Mamata Benarji, who also positively responded on Sri Lankan issue. It has already throws bait to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to attract him into UPA alliance.

Although, it appears both the Tamil parties are fighting for their fellow Tamil people living in Sri Lanka, actually they grab it to gain some political mileage in the state because the general elections are round the corner. Hence it is to be understood that the Sri Lankan Tamils and the Sri Lankan cricket players are just pawns in their political games. If we could recall how these two parties have played political games with Kamal Hasan’s ‘Viswaroopam’ movie it tells us that they will not spare anyone in their game.
