India tests its Nuclear capable missile

In yet another successful attempt, India has today test fired its nuclear-capable Agni-I missile.

- This test was conducted at the Wheeler Island which lies in the coast of Odisha. This island which is being exclusively used as missile testing facility, and is now being called as Abdul Kalam Island.

- The surface-to-surface Agni-I missile can hit targets upto 700km away. These 700 Km might be very well reached by the missile within 10 minutes!

- This missile could carry a payload of more than a tonne, and could very well accommodate the nuclear war heads.

- Agni-I was indigenously built by the Indian scientists. Key defense research centres such as DRDO has played active part in developing the missile.

- The missile has already been induced into the Indian forces and is expected to win some key battles in future.
