Indian Army conducts military operation in Myanmar

Indian army carried out a military operation deep inside neighboring Myanmar in the early hours of Tuesday and killed several militants, who were suspected to be attacked the Indian Army vehicles in Manipur few days ago in which 18 army men were killed. The Indian army commandoes have started military operation at 3 am on Tuesday and it continued for 13 hours. Indian Air Force helicopters and drones assisted them in their operation. All the soldiers, who take part in this operation, have safely returned to their base camps said Additional Director General, Military Operations, Maj Gen. Ranbir Singh.

Minister of state for information and broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore speaking to the media said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered for conducting this military operation. He said “Attacks on Indians, be it in Iraq or wherever it may be, they were not acceptable to us. This is a strong message to our neighbors who harbor terrorists.”

In an official release by Indian Army, “We want to ensure peace and tranquility along the borders. But, at the same time we will not allow outsiders pose any threat to our country’s safety, security and integrity. We will deal such elements with firm hand. This operation can be considered as an example for it.” This is first time for Indian Army to conduct military operation outside its territory. Earlier, it conducted joint military operation in Sri Lanka to comb the LTTE militants and ever since never conducted military operations outside the country. Hence, this would leave a strong message to the Pak based militants that they also can’t escape, if indulged in cross boarder terrorism.
