High Court disqualifies MLA Chennamaneni

The High court has disqualifies Vemulavada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh and declared his election as MLA stands cancelled as he is not a citizen of India. Ramesh, who earlier lived in Germany and holds German citizenship has returned to India and contested on TDP ticket in 2009 general elections. He has submitted fake documents to EC in his affidavit stating that he is Indian citizen, where as he carries dual citizenship, which is not permissible for contesting in the elections. He won the elections over his rival Aadi Srinivas of YSRCP. Later, he bids good bye to TDP and joined TRS party.

However, Mr.Srinivas has filed a petition in High Court challenging Ramesh election. After a 4 years legal battle, today the court gives its verdict disqualifying Ramesh. He is likely to challenge the verdict in Supreme Court. In wake of the High Court verdict, his nearest rival Aadi Srinivas, who stood second to Ramesh, may be declared as Vemulavada MLA. But, the question is how the EC has ignored the fake documents submitted by CH Ramesh.
