Navy helicopter collapses at Vizag

 

Indian Navy helicopter Chetak-445 was collapsed into sea 10 nautical miles away from the famous Dolphin Nose Center at Visakhapatnam around 3pm on Tuesday. Out of 4 members on board of the navy staff, 2 were rescued by rescue teams. However, they were rushed to hospital as they both badly injured in the accident. Rescue teams have recovered one body from the sea and searching for the other. According to available information, the four members have left the base station around 2pm in Chetak-445 helicopter on a routine patrolling duty. However, around 3pm the control room at base station has lost radio contact with the helicopter. Immediately, rescue teams swing into action and find the Chetak collapsed into the sea. The names of the 4 victims and reasons for the accident are not known yet. This is first time to see such a fatal accident in the Eastern Navy Command based at Visakhapatnam.
