Government refuses to extend DGP service period

The state government has refused the plea for extending the service period of DGP Dinesh Reddy, who hits the media for wrong reasons these days. The government is forwarding the same recommendations to Tribunal, which is trying his case. The Supreme Court’s order for CBI inquiry into his disproportionate assets has given a chance to opposition parties to demand for his removal from the post.

The controversy erupted with his meeting with Habib Mustafa Idrus Baba of old city and the cases filed against media also might have had its ill effects on his plea for extension. According to reports, Vara Prasad rao is likely to succeed him as DGP of the state.
