Supreme Court’s brainwash to union government over its control on CBI, has shown its affect to some extent. Following the court directions, the union cabinet has approved an affidavit yesterday, in which some major changes were proposed. The government has proposed the recruitment of the CBI director and his term be decided by the Supreme Court collegiums. Government also plans to allocate a separate fund to meet the CBI expenses, so as to give financial freedom to CBI. Government will submits the affidavit to Supreme Court on Friday. Though, these measures are not enough to make the CBI free from the clutches of the government, it is considered to be the first step in right direction.
