Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has directed Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma to make arrangements to celebrate the first Independence Day after the formation of Telangana state at the Historic fort. The Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other higher officials have made a preliminary visit to the site and oversee the arrangements for the flag hoisting celebrations to be conducted there. An exhibit with a tableau on the history of Telangana is also going to be displayed there.
KCR has expressed his desire to conduct Independence Day celebrations at the fort henceforth, akin to how it’s done at the Red Fort in New Delhi. But looking at the space constraint and security issues and with the Army having its outpost there conducting the event there could pose several issues and the feasibility of conducting this event would be sorted only after this event is over.
