GHMC issues orders to form MDD squads

HYDERABAD: On Sunday, orders were issued to all circles in the corporation limits by B. Janardhan Reddy, the commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to form multi-disciplinary demolition and enforcement squads with officials of police, revenue, irrigation and Town planning departments. From Monday the demolition squads would go into “Mission Mode Demolition Drive” and would remove all the illegal constructions, impingement of public spaces including on tanks, nalas, parks, open lands and roads. The squads would also demolish buildings that are structurally not safe.
