Fifth phase polling in brisk progress

Polling for the crucial 5th phase of general elections is progressing with brisk pace in 121 parliamentary constituencies in 12 states. Also polling for 77 Assembly constituencies in Odisha is continuing, but the Maoist factor puts the security personal on high alert. So far, no untoward incidents reported, except minor clashes between followers of some candidates. This is the biggest polling session in the nine-phase polling sessions. Around 16.61 crore voters are electing their 121 representatives from the 1,769 candidates in the race. According to latest information, so far 30-35 per cent of the 16.61 voters have casted their votes.
