While on a face book

Facebook is the new mantra in our social relations. While it can turn strangers into best friends, or bring back the lost friendships… it can also turn out to be disastrous if mishandled. A few tips to avoid the perils of facebook…

Mutual friends!

Be careful whom you are making friends. We often respond to the requests of the unknown. Having a mutual friend is not at all a safe criterion to accept a stranger as a friend. Being a mutual friend is often a safest ploy sinners use to make friends. One friend among your circle who has dumbly responded for his request would turn out to be `mutual` to assure the rest.  So never respond to the friend’s request of a stranger until and unless you are sure of his personality!

Be sure of your actions:

Once we are on the Facebook, we feel like free birds! We hit the `like` buttons, we use the `share` options, and we make `comment`s. Be aware that most our actions might go public. Friends from other circles would always have a chance to watch your actions and react!  A word that was said might be compensated, but an action on Facebook might be irreversible. So please be assured while you get active on Facebook! Rude, obscene, offensive and sensitive posts and comments on Facebook might prove disastrous.

Never cross the limit:

Remember that Facebook is a public dais. What you share with others might be recorded. So never lose your privacy on Facebook. Don’t share your personal information with friends and never with strangers on FB. The photos you send and the chat you have made can always be stored in digital formats by the receivers. Whatever your age is and whatever your circumstances are… never ever share private moments on Facebook until and unless you are ready for the consequences.

Logging out:

Be sure that you’ve logged out of the Facebook on all the devices, when you’ve completed the session. Someone might use your open account either to hack your information or to tease your friends. If you are not sure that you have logged out of all devices, go to the `settings` menu in the Facebook and select the `Security` option. Select `Where you are logged in` option to know your browsing activities. Click on `End all activity` to close all the sessions of your Facebook that are presently active.

Privacy settings:

Facebook indeed has many settings that assure our privacy. But most of the users are either careless or ignorant of such settings. We can always change our settings for a safer perspective. Go to the `Privacy` option in the `Settings` menu and choose the best options to suit your privacy. Options like `Who can see my stuff? `, `Who can contact me? `, `Who can look me up? `… can be changed as per your wish.
