HC gives shock to Delhi Lt. Governor

Delhi High Court, Lt. Governor, Chief Minister, IAS Officers The Delhi High Court gives a big shock to Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, who is conflicting with the Aam Admi government led by its Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal since last two weeks over the appointment of Princiapl Secretary.

Responding to a petition filed by the Delhi government, it asks the Delhi Lt. Governor to co-ordinate with the Delhi government to ensure smooth governance, instead of following the guidelines issued by the Centre regarding having control the bureaucrats. The court categorically stated that all the IAS officers serving the Delhi government, including the Anti Corruption Chief should report to the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and not to the Lt. Governor. Perhaps, this would put an end to this two week long tussel between the Delhi Chief Minister and Lt. Governor.

Arvind Kejriwal is planning to conduct a public-cabinet-meeting in Central Park in Cannut Place, New Delhi on Monday on the eve of completing 100 days in the power. He is reportedly planning to pass a resolution demanding full statehood to Delhi during this public-cabinet meeting so that it could get full support of the people of Delhi. Getting statehood to Delhi is one of the elections promises made by the AAP.
