Congress disowns Digvijay statement

As against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s wish of decentralizing the powers in the party and in the government, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has recently stated that having two power centers as Party President and Prime Minister is creating confuse and problems in the party and government. He said that if both the posts were handled by one person, it can avert this confusion and problems. He opined if the Congress party wins in the next elections and Rahul Gandhi should take charge of the party and the government as Prime Minister.

However, as his statement draws severe criticism from the opposition and within the party, Congress party official spokes person Janardhan Dwedhi has said that it is his personal opinion and Congress has nothing to do with his statement. He said the perfect synchronization between the party and the government during UPA-1 & 2 regimes stands as a role model for any government or party in the country. Hence there is no need to think about centralizing the powers as suggested by Digvijay Singh.
