CM Kiran begins speech in Assembly

Hardly one day left for returning the T-bill to President. So, all are waiting for President’s response to the letter written by state government seeking one month more time. It is expected that President’s office will inform his decision tonight, otherwise the debate on the bill is to be concluded tomorrow and bill is to be returned along with the proposals made by members of state Assembly, within two or three days. Therefore, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is speaking in the house today.

He tried to explain about some historical decisions, statements of Jawaharlal Nehru and developments that lead to creation of Andhra Pradesh state, but his speech is disrupted by TRS leaders. Minister K Jana Reddy has asked whether CM is opposing bifurcation of the state as an individual or party man. He said Kiran shouldn’t assume that all the members in the house are opposing the bill.

CM Kiran replied, “I lived all my life as Congress leader and got this post only because of party and Sonia Gandhi. I have never expected that I have to face a situation to decide between party and the people. Many think that I am quite fortunate to be CM of the state, but it is not true. I feel very unfortunate to witness the bifurcation of the state as CM.”

Sharply reacting to BJP leader Nagam Janardan Reddy’s remarks, CM Kiran said “I have never changed my stand in my life and will not change it like you.” TRS leaders are making hue and cry, when CM is quoting the statements and historical events related to Andhra Pradesh state and its formation.
