Cold war between CM and Speaker begins

CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, who already have number of enemies like Dr.DL Ravindra Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana, Ponnam Prabhakar and so on, seems added one more name to that lengthy list. This time it is none other than Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, with whom he is crossing swords over formation of standing committees.

Speaker Nadendla has proposed forming of standing committees to study the budgetary allocations and to submit reports before house is adjourned on March 26th. Despite Speaker’s insistence, Kiran Kumar Reddy has ignored his proposal and the house was adjourned. Speaker has proposed appointing the experienced legislatures from both ruling and opposition parties as the Chairmen of the standing committees, which was a tradition followed in the Parliament. But, CM do not wants to offer that post to opposition MLAs and wants to appoint only party men to avoid embarrassment. Hence, there was a deadlock between CM and Speaker in this regard. Further adding fuel to fumes CM has told his aides that the Committees will meet between April25th and May 10th, the matter which is actually to be decided by Speaker only. Hence, a cold war between CM and Speaker is said to be On now.
