Time to change Congress leadership: Chidambaram

So far no senior Congress leader has talked about change of leadership of their party except second level leaders. For the first time, former Union Minister P Chidambaram opined that it is time for change of party leadership. Speaking to media he said “although, our party president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi are striving hard to strengthen the party, but our leaders are losing confidence because of the crisis situation. I think, there is scope for leadership change in our party to uphold the party position. I think someone other than from Gandhi family may need to take-up the party reins to strengthen the party from grass root level.”

His remarks about leadership change reveals party leaders are unhappy with Sonia and Rahul gandhi's leadership and a serious discussion is taking place behind the screen. Ever since, Narendra Modi become Prime Minister of India, Rahul Gandhi's charishma is fading away very fast, because people believe the country need a strong and a self made leader like Modi than Rahul Gandhi, who always rely upon his mother and sister for support. Perhaps, Chidambaram made this remark as he foresees Congress party future is blink if continued in the present leadership of mother and son.
