Chandrababu briefed media about his meeting with PM

 

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu briefed the media about the details of his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi held on Tuesday morning. He said that he has elaborately explained about the poor situation of the state and seeks Centre’s support for speedy development of the state.

 

He said “I have asked for special subsidies for CRDA that was offered to Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh states development earlier. Centre is seeing all possible ways to accord special status to the AP state. Hence, I have asked him to grant 90 per cent subsides for industries in the state for rapid growth. I have reminded him about pending works like setting up industrial corridor between Vizag and Chennai, Railway zone, Duggarajapatnam Port, upgrading some existing airports, Metro Rail, Polavaram projects. I appealed the Prime Minister to liberally help the statement government for constructing the capital city.”

 

Chandrababu Naidu also explained the details of funds released by the Centre to the state during last 12 months. He said Centre has released Rs.2700 crores to compensate the revenue deficit, Rs.350 crores for development of seven backward districts in the state, Rs. 1500 crores for construction of capital city, Rs.250 crores for Polavaram Project and released 24 per cent funds for construction of Customs training Institute, IIT, IIIT, NIT and NIDM. He said Centre will announce a financial package for the state soon after the state and central officials submits their report on various projects and development activities to be kick started in the state.
