CBI raids on Himachal CM’s houses and offices

 

A team of 18 members of CBI officer have raided on eleven locations in New Delhi and Himachal Pradesh of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Saturday morning. He is facing corruption disproportionate assets cases. Enforcement officials also reportedly took part in the raids conducted in New Delhi. Virbhadra Singh was in Delhi and his family members went to a temple in Himachal Pradesh when the raids were conducted. Officials have seized important documents and hard disks from his offices and houses in both paces.

 

Opposition parties have been demanding action against him for a long time, but the UPA government that was in power till last year has spared him. He is allegedly taken bribes from a power generation company for extending its license for 10 months. Hence, the Delhi high court had directed the CBI and IT to submit status report to it within four weeks on their findings in his disproportionate assets cases.
